To start the day off right, the brunch at Wilf & Ada’s will delight you with its all day breakfast menu. The place is popular and it is not possible to make reservation, but the wait will be worth it!   

Parliament Hill

A visit to Ottawa would be incomplete without Parliament Hill. You can simply enjoy the site and the breathtaking view on the Rideau Canal, but it is also possible to visit the Parliament for free.

If you are an early bird, make sure to be there at 10AM and you will have the chance to witness the changing of the Guard. The ceremony also includes a regimental band and pipers.

Enjoy the day by strolling around in the sunshine and taking a look at the spectacle offered by the locks on the Rideau Canal. Moreover, these are still operated by hand!

You can also rent a bike to enjoy the bike paths along the canal.

If the weather is dull or you want to head inside for a museum, we suggest the Canadian War Museum. It includes exhibits on all the wars in which Canada has been involved, as well as peacekeeping operations. It also hosts artefacts of all kinds, such as tanks or motorcycles for a more interesting visit.

Little Italy

Finally, the Little Italy district of Ottawa is perfect for strolling through the shops and bistros. Obviously, you will not find a better place to take a break and enjoy a good coffee.
